- One Os-Cal 500+D has no sugar, lactose, carbohydrates or sodium. One Os-Cal 500+D has 0 calories; one Viactiv has 20 calories.
- One Os-Cal 500+D has 500 mg of elemental calcium; one Citracal + Vitamin D has only 315 mg. Contains the form of calcium shown to help promote colon health.
- Regular exercise and healthy diet with enough calcium helps teen, middle-aged and older women and men, especially Caucasian and Asian women who are at high risk, maintain good bone health and may reduce their risk of osteoporosis later in life.
- Adequate calcium intake is important, but daily intakes above 2000 mg are not likely to provide any additional benefit.
