Primatene Bronchial Asthma Tablets Temporarily relieves shortness of breath, tightness of chest and wheezing due to bronchial asthma.
- Eases breathing for asthma patients by reducing spasms of bronchial muscles.
- Helps loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions to rid bronchial passageways of bothersome mucus and make coughs more productive.
INGREDIENTS: Active Ingredients:Ephedrine Hci (USP 12.5 mg) (Bronchodilator), Guaifenesin (USP 200mg) (Expectorant).
Inactive Ingredients:Crospovidone, D&C Yellow 10 Aluminum Lake, FD&C Yellow 6 Aluminum Lake, Magnesium Stearate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Providone, Silicon Dioxide.
DIRECTIONS: Adults and children 12 years of age and older: take 2 tablets initially, then 2 tablets every 4 hours, as needed, not to exceed 12 tablets in 24 hours. Do not exceed recommended dosage unless directed by a doctor. Children under 12 years of age: ask a doctor.
WARNINGS: Do not use this product unless a diagnosis of asthma has been made by a doctor. Ask a doctor before use if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, difficulty in urination due to enlargement of the prostate gland, if you have ever been hospitalized for asthma or if you are taking any prescription drug for asthma. Do not continue to use this product, but seek medical assistance immediately if symptoms are not relieved within one hour or become worse. Some users of this product may experience nervousness, tremor, sleeplessness, nausea, and loss of appetite. If these symptoms persist or become worse, consult your doctor. Do not take this product for persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema, or where cough is accompanied by excessive phlegm (mucus) unless directed by a doctor. If cough persists for more than one week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by a fever, rash, or persistent headache, consult a doctor. These could be signs of a serious condition. As with any drug, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a health care professional before using this product. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center immediately. Intentional abuse of this product can be harmful or fatal. DRUG INTERACTION PRECAUTION: Do not use if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you do not know if your prescription drug contains a MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.
