Medium Chain Triglycerides Oil -
- Medium chain triglycerides oil (MCT oil) is designed to substitute or supplement fat calories in the diet of patients who poorly digest, absorb, utilize conventional food fats.
- MCT oil is more readily broken down and is absorbed differently than other types of fat.
- It requires fewer enzymes and bile acids for digestion, so it can provide or supplement dietary fat and calories in patients who might otherwise have compromised nutrition.
- One tablespoon of MCT oil provides 115 calories. MCT oil can be mixed with fruit juices, used on salads and vegetables, or in sauces.

Because it may soften or break containers or utensils made of certain types of plastic, use metal or glass to store MCT oil. Use under medical supervision.
