Lip Color Application Tips :

Applying a little foundation or powder on the lips before application of lipstick or lip gloss will smooth out your lips and help lip color stay on much longer.
Also, blotting lipstick and applying a second coat increases the long-lasting quality of your lip color.
A good trick is too apply lipliner pencil all over the lips before applying lip color. This will extend the length of wear.
To soften a deep dramatic shade, apply a lighter, shimmery shade over it just in the center of each lip, create your own colors by mixing and layering some of your favorite shades.
As a general rule, deeper colors make lips look smaller.
Also, if you want your lips to look smaller, stay away from light, frosted or high gloss shades which tend to accentuate lips.
For too-thin lips, light, glossy or pearly colors add fullness.
